Truck Driver (Afternoon Shift)

About the role

SCT Logistics, Australia's largest privately owned rail and freight logistics company, is hiring a truck driver for its afternoon shift in Forrestfield, Western Australia. The role covers driving heavy commercial vehicles and handling freight in a warehouse and shipping terminal environment.

Key responsibilities

• Drive heavy commercial (HC) licence vehicles, running maneuvers, navigating and transporting goods to designated areas in warehouses and shipping terminals
• Monitor and control TC refrigeration units
• Apply load restraint to freight loads and use rolling load restraint freight straps
• Stick freight for transport and ensure goods are stored in the correct areas for easy location when orders are made up
• Inspect and control equipment to identify wear and damage, and monitor equipment operation through gauges, instruments and computerised systems
• Ensure compliance with SCT's WHS policies, procedures and applicable state and federal legislation

Required profile

• HC license required
• Experience in the warehouse and transport industries
• Experience in a cross-dock warehouse environment and in a freight scanning environment
• Australian Permanent Resident
• Must pass an Australian Federal Police check and a pre-employment medical (arranged and paid by SCT)

Required skills

• Use of scanning equipment
• Packing and labelling of items for shipping
• Loading and unloading, including using a forklift to safely load and unload stock
• Pre-start vehicle checks (vehicle 360 checks, HME maintenance, tyre pressures, cleanliness of HME)
• Safety compliance
