Transport Planner – Sydney Metro & Digital Freight Network

About the role

A leading transport and logistics operation in Erskine Park is looking for an experienced Transport Planner on an ongoing casual basis, Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm, with an ASAP start. The role coordinates daily transport operations, manages freight movements and ensures service delivery across the Sydney Metro network and the Digital Freight Network (DFN).

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily Sydney Metro transport requirements for efficient freight movements and service delivery.
• Allocate and manage transport requirements, including daily freight planning and carrier coordination.
• Manage and monitor daily Digital Freight Network (DFN) freight movements.
• Liaise with carriers, operational sites, vendors and primary customers to meet transport requirements.
• Identify and manage transport delays, service exceptions and operational escalations.
• Maintain accurate transport records and ensure compliance with procedures and requirements.
• Ensure adherence to Chain of Responsibility (COR) obligations and transport compliance standards.
• Communicate by email with vendors, carriers and customers about arrangements, compliance and service updates.

Required profile

• Previous experience in transport planning, freight coordination or fleet allocation.
• Demonstrated experience in Sydney Metro transport planning.
• Experience managing or monitoring DFN freight movements is highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of Chain of Responsibility (COR) and transport compliance.
• Excellent written communication, organisation and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Experience using BY transport planning systems.
• Knowledge of transport compliance and service delivery.
