Transport Allocator

About the role

The Transport Allocator is the operational heartbeat of the transport team, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant movement of the fleet each day. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will coordinate runs, support drivers and maintain high standards of customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate daily transport runs to maximise fleet utilisation and meet customer service targets.
• Monitor fleet movements, respond to delays, and resolve service issues promptly.
• Communicate with drivers throughout the day, providing guidance and handling operational challenges.
• Manage driver rosters, leave planning and daily workforce coverage.
• Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility, HVNL, fatigue management and load‑restraint requirements.
• Maintain accurate transport, compliance, training and fleet records.
• Liaise with customers and internal stakeholders to coordinate service requirements and resolve enquiries.
• Assist with fleet maintenance scheduling and asset management activities.
• Investigate and report on service exceptions, missed collections and operational performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an allocator, dispatcher or transport coordinator in a busy transport operation.
• Current Australian HR Driver's Licence.
• Ability to pass pre‑employment and ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
• Strong knowledge of HVNL, Chain of Responsibility, load‑restraint and fatigue‑management obligations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with fleet management systems.
• Experience using GPS platforms.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
