Training Specialist

About the role

MSS Security, one of Australia's leading security companies, is looking for a Training Specialist to coordinate and deliver operational and accredited training, primarily to the guarding workforce but also to client stakeholders and third parties. The role reports to the General Manager within the growing Defence portfolio and focuses on customer service, a proactive learning strategy and responsive learning interventions. It can be based in the ACT, NSW or VIC state offices, with regular travel.

Key responsibilities

• Consult with operational leaders to determine learning priorities
• Develop and maintain a national training calendar, including partnerships with local Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)
• Create custom, client- and site-specific training tools and resources for operational staff
• Coach and develop others in the application of adult learning concepts
• Manage multiple online learning systems

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years in a similar role
• Minimum Cert IV in Training and Assessment
• Knowledge of security, defence or similar industries
• Experience developing competency frameworks
• Ability to produce clear, easy-to-interpret reporting

Required skills

• Strong administrative skills to develop professional, learner-friendly learning materials
• Capacity to coach others in adult learning
• Management of multiple online learning systems
