Training Officer

About the role

The Training Officer will support the delivery, development and continuous improvement of training and competency programmes at HVO, a large open‑cut mining operation in the NSW Hunter Valley. Reporting to the Training Coordinator, you will work closely with leaders and employees to build workforce capability, ensure compliance and foster a strong learning and safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate and deliver training programmes in line with site standards, procedures and safety systems.
• Maintain accurate training records and documentation within the site’s learning management system.
• Review and update training materials, assessments and learning resources to keep them current and compliant.
• Monitor training compliance through reporting systems and coordinate required training activities.
• Support workforce capability development through coaching, mentoring and engagement with employees and leaders.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE).
• Experience as a Training Officer, Trainer or Assessor in an industrial, mining or heavy‑industry environment.
• Strong organisational, time‑management and communication skills.
• Commitment to safety, continuous improvement and a positive workplace culture.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems.
• High computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
