Trade Assistant / Technician - Composite Manufacturing

About the role

An established advanced manufacturing team in Kilkenny is looking for a steady, workshop-based manufacturing role as a Trade Assistant or Technician, with a potential pathway to permanent employment. It is a 100% workshop-based position with no site travel, working reliable day shifts starting at 6:00 am, 8 to 10 hours long, with Saturday shifts also available.

Key responsibilities

• Operate workshop machinery and carry out manual lay-ups to manufacture composite pipes, casings and industrial components.
• Use hand and power tools safely to fabricate, trim, fit and finish composite products.
• Mix, measure and handle specialised resins, adhesives and fibreglass materials to exact technical specifications.
• Perform wrapping and curing processes so finished products meet strict industrial quality standards.
• Keep the workshop clean, organised and hazard-free, following Work Health and Safety (WHS) protocols.

Required profile

• Proven experience safely operating hand and power tools in a workshop or manufacturing environment.
• Prior background in composite materials, pipefitting, fabrication or specialised manufacturing is highly regarded.
• Ability to pass a National Police Check.
• Full Australian working rights; candidates on valid working visas are welcome to apply.
• Experience of around 2 years and a White Card or Trade Certificate.

What we offer

• Pay of $40.02 to $44.01 per hour, paid weekly, depending on level, plus an extra $1.50 per hour workshop allowance.
• Early 6:00 am starts with consistent 8 to 10 hour days, including Saturday shifts.
• A stable, local Kilkenny facility with no site travel or remote callouts, onsite carparking and regular overtime.
• Ongoing casual assignment with genuine potential for permanent conversion.
