Therapy Assistant (Part-Time)

About the role

Aegis Carrington, an aged care facility in Hamilton Hill near Fremantle, is looking for a part-time Therapy Assistant. You will help enrich the lives of elderly residents and encourage their independence and wellbeing, working alongside physiotherapists and occupational therapists. The schedule is Week 1 Monday 08:30-12:30, Week 2 Thursday 08:30-13:30 and Monday 08:30-12:30, Tuesday 13:00-19:00, with the option to pick up more shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging mobility and exercise programs for residents under the guidance of physiotherapists.
• Support recreational and therapeutic activities under the direction of the occupational therapist.
• Help plan and organise therapy programs and lead a range of therapy-based activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation in line with relevant standards and guidelines.
• Accompany resident groups on outings.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or higher/equivalent; Certificate IV or equivalent with experience is desirable but not essential.
• Experience in a similar role such as Occupational Therapist Assistant or Physiotherapist Assistant preferred.
• Full Australian working rights and ability to pass a national police clearance.
