Therapeutic Specialist - Armadale Middle School Campus

About the role

Alta1 is recruiting a full-time, permanent Therapeutic Specialist for its Armadale Middle School Campus in the South Metro region of Western Australia. As a co-educational CaRE (Curriculum and Re-engagement in Education) school, it provides trauma-informed education and wraparound support to students in Years 7-12 who face barriers to learning. The role starts in January 2027 and involves working with a multidisciplinary team to support student wellbeing, engagement and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting student wellbeing, engagement and growth.
• Provide case management, counselling, group work and behaviour support.
• Build positive, professional relationships with a range of stakeholders.

Required profile

• Registered psychologist (AHPRA), occupational therapist with AHRRA registration and mental health endorsement with OTA, social worker eligible for AASW membership, or counsellor with eligibility for ACA or AASW membership; diploma holders cannot apply.
• Experience in counselling, case management and therapeutic support.
• Able to practice with a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach.
