Test Lead - Autonomous Haulage Systems

About the role

A leading Tier 1 mining company is looking for a Test Lead to work on the verification and validation of next-generation autonomous haulage systems. This is a hands-on technical leadership role coordinating Perth and field testing teams to deliver integrated testing across FMS, autonomy, vehicle systems and operational environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead integrated V&V testing across Perth and field-based environments
• Develop and coordinate test plans aligned with software releases, operational milestones and system requirements
• Execute testing personally using SIL, HIL and virtual simulation environments
• Lead system integration, interface, regression, fault/degradation and operational scenario testing
• Analyse test results and system logs, identify defects and drive investigation, retesting and technical closure
• Work closely with OEMs, engineering, automation, simulation and field operations teams
• Maintain requirements-to-test traceability and ensure objective evidence supports system release decisions
• Coordinate test resources, priorities, environments and handovers between Perth and site
• Lead test readiness reviews and report on progress, risks, coverage and delivery
• Coach and technically support testers across both Perth and field teams

Required profile

• Permanent residency or citizenship within Australia (all applicants must meet this)
• Strong experience leading or coordinating V&V/testing of complex software and hardware systems
• Hands-on system, integration and scenario-based testing experience
• Exposure to autonomous haulage, FMS, robotics, vehicle control systems, industrial automation or mining technology highly regarded
• Experience troubleshooting complex integration issues with OEMs and multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Strong technical leadership, planning and stakeholder management skills
