Test & Commissioning Manager – ETCS L2 (Wayside)

About the role

Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic, self‑motivated Test & Commissioning Manager for ETCS Level 2 wayside systems. Based in Brisbane, you will lead testing and commissioning activities across multiple work packages in a fast‑paced digital railway project.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a pool of wayside T&C engineers, Testers in Charge and Commissioning Engineers across several ETCS L2 work packages.
• Develop, review and continuously improve test documentation, ensuring robust test coverage and compliance with safety standards.
• Manage resource planning, execution and reporting for all wayside testing and commissioning activities.
• Support client and third‑party interfaces during test planning and execution, and contribute to future bid strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (RPEQ preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in railway signalling testing and commissioning, with proven leadership of large multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel as required by project needs.

Required skills

• System integration of complex railway signalling systems.
• Use of test tools and database tools.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of ERP and configuration‑management tools.
