Test Automation Engineer (6‑month contract)

About the role

Leidos Australia is looking for an experienced API & Integration Test Automation Engineer on a fixed‑term contract until March 2027. You will design, develop and maintain automated testing solutions for healthcare and enterprise applications, ensuring high‑quality software delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated API and integration test suites covering functional, regression and end‑to‑end scenarios.
• Build and support test execution within Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, integrating quality gates into release processes.
• Collaborate with software engineers, platform engineers and solution architects to embed testability into solution design.
• Analyse test failures, perform root‑cause investigations and produce quality metrics and test evidence.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship and eligibility for Baseline security clearance.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and maintaining automated API and integration testing frameworks.
• Strong understanding of REST, HTTP/S, JSON, XML and API contract testing principles.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• REST, SOAP and event‑driven integration testing.
• Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and Git‑based source control.
• OAuth2, OpenID Connect and token‑based security testing.
• HL7 FHIR and other healthcare interoperability standards (preferred).
