Terminal Security Officer - Hobart Airport

About the role

MSS Security, one of Australia's leading security companies, is looking for professional, reliable and customer-focused Terminal Security Officers to work at Hobart International Airport. The role provides a visible security presence throughout the airport terminal and surrounding precinct.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct security patrols of the terminal, forecourt, aprons, airport roads and car parks.
• Monitor and report security, safety and operational concerns, and respond promptly and professionally to security incidents.
• Apply verbal deescalation and conflict resolution techniques when dealing with challenging or escalating behaviour.
• Engage respectfully with passengers who are distressed and provide first aid when required.
• Maintain accurate security logs, patrol records and incident reports.

Required profile

• Full Australian working rights.
• A current Tasmanian Security Agent Licence.
• A current First Aid and CPR certificate.
• Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
• Ability to undergo a medical assessment, including drug and alcohol testing.
• Previous experience in security, aviation, transport, mental health support or another public-facing operational environment is highly regarded.
