Technical Product Manager - HPC

About the role

Talent Aligned represents a specialized infrastructure provider operating in regulated environments, where every deliverable must withstand rigorous customer audits. The role is a full-time, permanent position based onsite in Sydney, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. It suits someone who has moved into a Product Manager or Product Owner role, ideally within a startup, and who can turn complex architectural logic into precise, executable specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Own the customer path: manage the end-to-end journey from intake and workload specification through the scheduled run, evidence pack and final invoice, making it highly repeatable before automation.
• Draft Product Requirements Documents with no ambiguity: each PRD must have a named owner, a date, an explicit in-scope and out-of-scope list, detailed schema sections (tables, columns, types, migration notes) and numbered, testable functional requirements.
• Enforce strict prioritization: every item goes into one of two buckets, unblocks revenue or keeps the lights on; anything else is closed, and the limit of two open items per person is enforced, including with the CEO.
• Verify claims: go beyond a green test suite and check that what the platform claims to customers matches reality in the live environment.

Required profile

• Foundational background in software development, cloud infrastructure or systems engineering.
• Proven experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner, preferably in a fast-paced startup.
• Ruthless prioritization skills and the confidence to hold all stakeholders accountable.
• Existing Australian work rights; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Willingness to work onsite in Sydney full time.

Required skills

• Practical scripting skills.
• Deep understanding of database schemas, tables and architectural logic.
