Technical Officer - Component Maintenance Services

About the role

A full-time Technical Officer position in the Component Maintenance Services department at Melbourne Maintenance Base. The officer supports the Engineering business unit with technical issue investigations and resolution, regulatory compliance issues and investigations of quality and safety issues, working on changes to compliance and production with a continuous improvement approach.

Key responsibilities

• Support the department in keeping aircraft components compliant with the latest approved data
• Communicate with OEM suppliers and internal Engineering teams on troubleshooting technical issues
• Coordinate tooling and test equipment
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities

Required profile

• Working knowledge of CASA and FAA regulations
• Demonstrated ability to use processes and procedures to ensure compliance
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including with management
• Experience handling confidential or sensitive information
• Team player and proven negotiation skills, able to persuade managers, supervisors and peers
• Engineering degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical discipline, or aircraft trade background with a diploma or associate diploma

• Proficiency in MS Office packages
