Technical Manager – Corporate & Commercial Complex Large Loss Property Claims

About the role

This newly created senior technical leadership position sits within QBE’s Commercial Property, Construction and Engineering Claims team. The Technical Manager will strengthen the team’s technical and operational capability, providing expert guidance on complex, high‑value loss property claims.

Key responsibilities

• Coach and mentor technical specialists and support Service Managers to deliver cost‑effective claim outcomes.
• Establish and maintain technical standards, operational protocols and governance for large and complex claims.
• Identify, analyse and implement process improvements across functional areas.
• Act as the escalation point for complex, denied or pending claims.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of QBE products and services to guide decision‑making.
• Build strong internal and external relationships to reinforce confidence in claim capabilities.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in property or construction claims management.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement and uphold high technical standards.
