Technical Lead – Managed Services

About the role

The Technical Lead will act as the primary technical authority for an enterprise client’s infrastructure within Brennan’s Managed Services team. Based in Thornleigh, Sydney, the role requires a strong onsite presence and deep expertise in data‑center management, cloud, and hybrid environments.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and optimise IT systems for performance, security and scalability across Azure, VMware, and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Manage problem‑management processes, investigate and resolve escalated security and IT issues.
• Administer Windows Server, hypervisors, storage and virtual machines both on‑premise and in public clouds.
• Maintain high service quality, achieve strong customer feedback scores and ensure compliance with service delivery policies.
• Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to deliver seamless services and develop strategies for system efficiency and cloud optimisation.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of IT experience with advanced infrastructure and systems management.
• Proven ability to act as a senior technical advisor and take ownership of technical outcomes.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced VMware administration (ESXi, vCenter, clustering, HA, DRS, storage).
• Veeam Backup & Replication, including CDP and SureBackup.
• HPE server infrastructure, Fibre Channel SAN switching.
• Linux administration and Docker container environments.
• Microsoft IIS/FTP, Failover Clustering, SQL Server Availability Groups.
• PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Active Directory and Office 365 management.
• Azure (essential), with familiarity of AWS or GCP.
• Backup solutions such as Commvault.
