Technical Director – Roads & Highways

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Technical Director for its Roads & Highways team in Queensland. You will lead large‑scale infrastructure projects, mentor emerging engineers, and help shape the future of transport networks across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and delivery of high‑impact road projects, ensuring quality, sustainability and innovation.
• Set technical standards and drive best practices across the engineering team.
• Mentor and develop a high‑performing team, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Collaborate with professionals across the ANZ region to leverage diverse expertise.
• Champion the integration of new engineering technologies and sustainable practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of engineering experience with a proven track record in roads and highways projects.
• Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
• Strong leadership and team‑development capabilities.
• Forward‑thinking approach with a passion for sustainable, innovative solutions.
• Deep understanding of the transport sector and ability to influence technical direction.
