Technical Design Architect

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Technical Design Architect to lead application architecture, technical governance, and solution design for enterprise‑scale platforms in Sydney.

Key responsibilities

• Define and govern application architecture, technical standards and design principles.
• Lead architecture and technical design reviews, guiding development teams.
• Design scalable, secure, high‑performance microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Drive API‑first integration strategies and RESTful service design.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, compliance and performance standards.
• Provide technical leadership across the full SDLC, from requirements to production deployment.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to establish CI/CD best practices and deployment strategies.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Java, Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Expertise in REST APIs, system integration and distributed application design.
• Experience with architecture governance, design reviews and technical leadership.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile delivery, DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
