Team Member Grading Level 5

About the role

This hands‑on position supports Council’s construction and maintenance programmes through grading, plant operation, truck driving and general labour duties. It is ideal for someone who enjoys outdoor work, takes pride in quality, and thrives in a team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake grading operations and operate a range of plant, equipment and trucks to deliver maintenance and construction programmes.
• Perform general labour and civil construction tasks safely, efficiently and within required timeframes.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks on plant, equipment and vehicles.
• Collaborate with team members and other Council departments to achieve operational objectives.
• Follow work procedures, identify hazards and contribute to a positive health‑and‑safety culture.

Required profile

• Reliable, safety‑conscious team player with a practical approach to problem‑solving.
• Experience operating graders and other civil construction plant.
• Willingness to adapt to changing operational needs and undertake a variety of maintenance duties.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

Required skills

• Operation of road graders and civil construction plant.
• Queensland Heavy Rigid (HR) driver’s licence or higher.
• Construction Industry White Card.
• Competency in Roller Operations (RIIMPO317F) or ability to obtain.
• Competency in Wheeled Front End Loader Operations (RIIMPO321F) or ability to obtain.
• Implement Traffic Management Plans (RIIWHS302D) or ability to obtain.
• Chainsaw and pole saw competency or ability to obtain.
