Team Leader – Field Operations (Water & Sewer Services)

About the role

Coliban Water is expanding its frontline operations and seeks an experienced, people‑focused Team Leader to oversee customer connection services across water, sewer and recycled water networks. Reporting to the Manager Rural and Urban Services, you will lead field operators and coordinate contractors in a 24/7 environment, ensuring safety, efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Customer Connections Field Operators, fostering a strong safety and performance culture.
• Coordinate contractors to achieve high‑quality outcomes in safety, customer experience, asset management and compliance.
• Plan, undertake and oversee maintenance, repair and rectification works across water, sewer and recycled water services.
• Act as an escalation point for complex or sensitive customer matters.
• Ensure all works comply with relevant legislation, regulations, standards and policies.
• Build effective relationships with customers, plumbers, contractors, councils and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor service delivery performance, prepare reports and drive continuous improvement.
• Support roster management, standby arrangements and out‑of‑hours response.

Required profile

• Proven operational leadership experience in a regulated environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead or supervise teams in an operational or works‑based setting.
• Strong customer focus with experience handling escalated matters professionally.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet service delivery targets.
• Commitment to workplace safety, risk management and compliance.

• Salary range $96,773 – $118,209 per year (Band 4, Enterprise Agreement 2021) plus superannuation.
