Teacher - Sports Development Programs

About the role

The Islamic College of Sport (ICS), an independent senior secondary school run by the Bachar Houli Foundation, is seeking a motivated and dedicated Teacher to join its team at the Hoppers Crossing and Windy Hill campuses, starting Term 1 2027. The role covers the facilitation, training and assessment of students enrolled in the school's Sports Development Programs. Students follow the Victorian Certificate of Education - Vocational Major.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver curriculum through an applied learning approach, and create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment
• Monitor student progress, give regular feedback and keep accurate records, meeting assessment and reporting standards
• Work with colleagues to design and deliver high-quality learning experiences, aligned with the school's mission, vision and Statement of Faith
• Support students' holistic journey through camps, excursions and community projects
• Build positive relationships with students, parents and carers, and with local community and sports industry partners
• Stay compliant with school and regulatory policies, take part in staff meetings and professional development, and share best practice

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Education
• Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration, or eligibility for registration
• Experience in independent, faith-based, alternative education or sports-focused settings is highly regarded
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to build rapport with diverse people
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with good time management and problem-solving skills
