Teacher - Refrigeration

About the role

TAFE Queensland, the state's largest vocational education and training provider, is recruiting a Teacher for Refrigeration. The role contributes to developing and delivering outcome-focused VET programs, linking with industry, schools, universities and communities. It is a permanent, full-time position reporting to the Business Manager, based mainly at the Townsville Trade Training Centre, Bohle Campus, with possible work at other campuses.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver teaching and assessment in classroom, workplace, simulated and online settings, using blended and inclusive techniques
• Design assessment tools aligned to industry skills standards (National Training Package endorsed components)
• Take part in program planning, review and continuous improvement of training and assessment
• Build relationships with students, clients and staff, and promote safety and sustainability
• Monitor student attendance and progression, facilitate access to support and give feedback
• Complete general administration and take part in professional learning

Required profile

• Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed
• Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology (UEE32225) or equivalent
• One of the listed training and assessment credentials (e.g. TAE40122, TAE40116, TAE40110, TAE50122, TAE50111, TAE50116, TAE50211, TAE50216)
• Or a secondary teaching qualification plus a VET teacher or assessor skill set, higher-level adult or vocational education qualification, and current industry skills
• Proof of qualifications and industry currency/experience provided at interview
