Primary Teacher (Prep–Year 6)

About the role

Townsville Grammar School is seeking a dedicated Primary Teacher to join its Junior School campuses, teaching students from Prep to Year 6. The role begins in Term 1 2027 and focuses on creating a positive, well‑managed classroom environment that promotes mutual respect and student success.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, plan and deliver high‑quality learning experiences across the curriculum.
• Manage classroom behaviour and foster an inclusive atmosphere that supports diverse learning styles.
• Participate actively in co‑curricular, pastoral, and school community events such as parent‑teacher nights, school camps and sports carnivals.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching qualification and QCT registration (mandatory).
• Significant primary‑school teaching experience (desirable).
• Commitment to the ethos of independent schools and willingness to engage in extracurricular activities.

Required skills

• Ability to adapt teaching methods to various learning styles and student needs.
• Strong classroom management competence.
