Taxation Compliance and Governance Lead

About the role

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced taxation and compliance professional to lead critical governance and remediation initiatives within Noosa Council. You will oversee complex taxation compliance projects and help embed sustainable, business‑as‑usual compliance outcomes across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of taxation compliance projects, focusing on Fringe Benefits Tax and Superannuation Guarantee obligations.
• Identify, assess and remediate taxation and compliance risks through retrospective reviews and practical governance solutions.
• Provide specialist taxation and compliance advice to finance, payroll, HR and procurement functions.
• Develop and embed clear policies, processes and controls to strengthen governance.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience leading taxation, superannuation or compliance‑focused projects in a public or corporate environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation obligations relevant to payroll and employment arrangements.
• Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Current C class driver licence; membership of a recognised professional accounting body is desirable.

What we offer

• Base salary of $109,838 per annum
• Total remuneration package of $124,675 including superannuation and leave loading
• Full‑time fixed‑term contract to 30 June 2027
