Tax Analyst – Compliance & Business Partner (AU/NZ)

About the role

Stryker is seeking a Tax Analyst to join its finance team across Australia and New Zealand. In this role you will own tax compliance and governance, partner with finance and business units, and provide insight that supports better decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end tax filing calendar, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of all obligations.
• Prepare and review tax provisions, calculations and payments for direct and indirect taxes.
• Support the preparation of Australian and New Zealand income tax returns, including ATO and IRD schedules.
• Deliver GST/BAS, FBT and payroll tax requirements with high accuracy.
• Contribute to internal tax reporting, SOX compliance and tax audits.
• Stay ahead of regulatory changes and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Provide commercial‑focused tax advice and support transfer‑pricing documentation.
• Assist with R&D tax processes, voluntary disclosures and customs reporting.
• Translate complex tax information into practical guidance for finance and non‑finance teams.
• Identify risks and opportunities, drive continuous improvement and support finance projects requiring tax expertise.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Foundational experience or knowledge of direct and indirect tax.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
• Ability to interpret financial data and communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders.
• Well‑organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proactive mindset, capable of working independently and applying sound judgement.
