Tax Accountant

About the role

The corporate tax accountant will report to the CFO and manage tax compliance for a large multi‑entity organisation. The role combines day‑to‑day tax filing with strategic tax advice on M&A, capital investments and group restructures.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review income tax returns, tax provisions and reconciliations across the group.
• Deliver consolidated tax reporting and support group‑level financial reporting obligations.
• Manage indirect tax compliance (BAS, FBT, payroll tax) across multiple jurisdictions.
• Support the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and related‑party reviews.
• Partner with external advisors and internal stakeholders on tax compliance and planning.
• Provide commercial tax advice on strategic initiatives, including M&A transactions, capital investments and restructures.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, risk mitigation and value creation through tax.

Required profile

• Degree in accounting, commerce or a related discipline.
• CA/CPA qualification (or working towards).
• Solid experience in corporate tax, preferably in‑house or Big 4 practice.
• Strong working knowledge of Australian tax law and compliance requirements.
• Exposure to M&A or corporate structuring is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across functions.
