Tax Accountant Intern

About the role

A reputable company in Melbourne is offering a Tax Accountant internship to students and recent graduates who want to enter the industry. The host company invests in fresh talent and plans to offer permanent employment to a suitable candidate. The internship lasts 12 weeks and covers taxation, bookkeeping and client reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts and superannuation.
• Prepare BAS, IAS, GST and FBT returns.
• Bookkeeping.
• Create and return financial statements and documents to clients.
• Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office and other regulatory bodies.
• Collect and enter data for financial spreadsheets.

Required profile

• Studying a relevant degree or a recent graduate.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• The technical and soft skills needed to perform the job.
• Commitment to a career in the field of study.
• Completion of a Taxation certified course.
• Ability to work at least 3 days per week.

Required skills

• Use of MYOB, Xero and SAP.
