Systems Administrator

About the role

As a Systems Administrator you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management, monitoring, patching, security and compliance of a property‑based server infrastructure that spans more than 130 locations. Working remotely, you will collaborate with Australian technology teams when escalation or on‑site intervention is required, ensuring high availability and operational reliability across the estate.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, monitor and securely configure virtualised workloads and Proxmox hypervisors across multiple sites.
• Administer Windows Server and Linux environments, including patching, hardening and firmware lifecycle management.
• Oversee CCTV/VMS platforms (e.g., NX Witness) and endpoint security solutions.
• Maintain backup systems, perform regular test restores and ensure data integrity.
• Provide troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and documentation for all infrastructure components.
• Collaborate with remote teams for escalations, physical interventions and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar infrastructure role.
• Strong hands‑on experience with virtualization platforms, preferably Proxmox.
• Solid administration experience on Windows Server and Linux, including security hardening.
• Experience with RMM tools such as NinjaOne or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate clearly in written English with Australian stakeholders.
• Self‑motivated, highly organised and comfortable working autonomously.
