System Administrator (Secure Networks)

About the role

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking an experienced System Administrator to join its Secure Networks team supporting the MQ-28 Collaborative Combat Aircraft program. The role is based in Brisbane and focuses on building, implementing and sustaining a secure DevSecOps environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines in line with program requirements.
• Support and optimise Secure Software Development Environments, including scheduled maintenance, updates and performance tuning.
• Manage and troubleshoot issues across Windows, Ubuntu and Red Hat developer VMs.
• Maintain the SDE task backlog in Jira and produce clear documentation (as‑built, configuration, change logs).
• Deploy, configure and optimise Kubernetes clusters and Docker containers.
• Develop and sustain GitLab CI/CD pipelines and Ansible playbooks.

Required profile

• Proven experience planning and implementing secure CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands‑on experience with secure Software Development Environments and related governance (e.g., ISM).
• Previous work in a defence or government setting is highly desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity or related field.
• Relevant certifications such as Red Hat Certified System Administrator or Certified Kubernetes Administrator are a plus.
• Australian driver’s licence and ability to obtain NV2 security clearance.
