Surgical Registrar – General Surgery

About the role

Join St John of God Midland Public & Private Hospitals as a Surgical Registrar in General Surgery. This 12‑month fixed‑term position starting February 2027 offers exposure to a diverse surgical case mix, supportive mentorship, and opportunities to develop procedural skills in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage patient care under the direction of consultants, with clearly defined clinical responsibilities.
• Seek senior assistance when needed and provide supervision and teaching to junior staff.
• Document daily patient care details, including histories, examinations, investigation results, care plans, and follow‑up.
• Arrange and record investigations such as radiology, pathology, microbiology, haematology and biochemistry.
• Participate in after‑hours rosters and liaise with on‑call consultants regarding departmental matters.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Minimum two years of experience in a clinical hospital setting.
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in surgical training.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

What we offer

• Salary range $128,760 – $175,802 per annum plus 12% superannuation.
• Professional development allowance of $11,721 pro‑rata per annum (if part‑time).
