Subcontracts Specialist

About the role

Northrop Grumman Australia is looking for a Subcontracts Specialist to lead sourcing and subcontract activities from strategy through to contract award and ongoing management. The role works closely with program teams, suppliers and stakeholders so that commercial solutions deliver value, manage risk and support successful program outcomes. It is based in Fortitude Valley, Queensland or Symonston, Canberra, with flexible hybrid working.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing and subcontract strategies
• Lead RFx processes, supplier evaluations, negotiations and contract awards
• Draft, negotiate and manage subcontracts and contract variations
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve commercial issues
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Support Australian Industry Capability (AIC) initiatives
• Drive continuous improvement across subcontracting processes

Required profile

• Experience in subcontract management, procurement, contracts or a similar commercial role
• Strong commercial acumen, including contract drafting and negotiation experience
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and solve complex commercial challenges
• Experience working with suppliers and managing contract performance
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an NV1 Australian Government security clearance; Australian citizenship is required
• Defence, aerospace, ASDEFCON or export control experience is highly regarded
