Strategy Consultant – Energy, Resources & Utilities (Manager)

About the role

PwC's Strategy& business is looking for a Manager in Brisbane to join its Energy, Utilities & Resources advisory practice. The role sits at the heart of complex, high-stakes engagements, developing and testing hypotheses, driving workstreams and shaping recommendations that executives act on. It also involves supporting business development and thought leadership. Candidates are expected to bring genuine knowledge of the sector, whether gained in a mining company, energy producer, utility, a strategy firm or within PwC.

Key responsibilities

• Develop strategic plans addressing clients' most pressing challenges, from portfolio optimisation and capital allocation to market entry and operational improvement
• Lead research and analysis to surface market trends, competitive dynamics and sector insights
• Facilitate workshops, contribute to presentations and build relationships with client stakeholders, turning complex findings into clear recommendations
• Own deliverables so reports, presentations and frameworks are sharp and well structured
• Support business development and thought leadership activities

Required profile

• Genuine understanding of, or strong interest in, the Energy, Utilities & Resources or mining sector, including its commercial, regulatory and operational dynamics; industry specialisation is highly favoured
• Ability to work in lean, dynamic teams and deliver under pressure
• Commercial awareness and a hypothesis-driven approach

Required skills

• Strong analytical capability and ability to extract insights from complex data sets
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to present to senior stakeholders
• Problem-solving and research skills
