Stores/Inventory Officer – Supply Chain Management

About the role

The Department of Health is seeking a Stores/Inventory Officer to deliver specialist supply‑chain services across the Central Australia and Barkly Regions. The role supports the health service and external clients by ensuring efficient management of stores, inventory and distribution processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage store operations and maintain accurate inventory records for the NT Health service.
• Coordinate procurement, receipt, storage and issue of medical and non‑medical supplies.
• Monitor stock levels, conduct regular stocktakes and reconcile discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with health‑sector policies, legislative requirements and quality standards.
• Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers to facilitate timely delivery and distribution.
• Prepare reports on inventory performance and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification or experience in inventory, stores or supply‑chain management.
• Experience working in a government or health‑service environment is desirable.
• Ability to work in remote locations across Central Australia and the Barkly Region.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
