Store Operations Manager

About the role

Metcash Food supplies over 1,600 independent stores across Australia and New Zealand, including IGA, Foodland and Campbells/C-Store. As Store Operations Manager you will lead a busy wholesale branch, drive operational excellence and customer service, and build a safe, high-performing team. You report to the Branch Manager. Core shifts run Monday to Friday, 6:45 AM to 4:30 PM, with one Saturday shift every four weeks and time in lieu the following week.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day branch operations and ensure DIFOT (delivered in full, on time) performance
• Drive operational, sales and financial targets and identify ways to improve branch performance
• Coach, mentor and develop supervisors and team members
• Champion a strong safety culture and compliance with WHS, Food Safety, HACCP and environmental requirements
• Build relationships with customers, suppliers and operational partners
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to boost productivity, efficiency and customer outcomes

Required profile

• Proven experience leading operational teams
• People leadership, coaching and performance management skills
• Experience managing budgets, operational performance and productivity
• Knowledge of warehouse, inventory or supply chain operations
• Stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
• Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
