Store Manager - Automotive Parts Retail

About the role

Autobarn, part of Bapcor Ltd, is hiring a Store Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of its store, inspire a high-performing team and foster a customer-focused culture. This is a hands-on leadership role reporting to the Area Manager, focused on driving sales and operational performance while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Health and safety: promote safe work practices, ensure compliance with company policies, identify and report risks and engage the team in safety initiatives.
• Financial and operational performance: manage sales, budgets, margins, inventory and rostering; use business reporting, scorecards and workforce management tools to control costs and minimise loss.
• Sales growth: lead by example, coach and motivate the team to meet sales targets and deliver operational excellence and outstanding customer service.
• Store presentation: ensure retail processes, visual merchandising, promotions and store presentation are executed consistently.
• People development: recruit for values, coach performance, recognise success and build an inclusive, collaborative culture.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience as a Store Manager or senior retail leader, ideally in automotive, specialty retail or large-format retail.
• Strong people leadership, with the ability to coach, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
• Commercial, results-driven mindset with experience delivering sales growth, meeting KPIs and managing store performance.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills, and a values-led, collaborative approach to leading change.
• Commitment to workplace health, safety, compliance and risk management.
• Experience or interest in the automotive industry is highly regarded.
