Staff Training Coordinator

About the role

Queensland Corrective Services is recruiting a full-time Staff Training Coordinator. The role covers the design and delivery of training programs for correctional officers, with a focus on assessing training needs, evaluating training effectiveness and coordinating training within the centre.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver training programs and assess training needs through analysis of competency gaps
• Evaluate training to determine its effectiveness in supporting staff competence and skills, and plan and resource an overall training plan to meet operational needs
• Liaise and negotiate with centre management on the delivery of training within the centre's staff resourcing and roster
• Ensure training needs are met within desired timeframes and comply with RTO standards

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering training programs
• Experience and contemporary knowledge of correctional centre operations, specifically the role of correctional officer
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to deliver learning transfer in a training environment
• Ability to assess competency under the Vocational Qualifications Framework (VQF) and understand its standards and requirements
• Very strong organisational skills and ability to work outside normal hours, travel to other locations or work from an alternate location

Required skills

• Certificate III/IV in Correctional Practice and TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment are highly desirable
• Competency assessment within the VQF
