Speech Pathology Trainee

About the role

Logan Hospital, part of Metro South Health, is recruiting a Speech Pathology Trainee to complete their Speech Pathology degree while gaining hands-on clinical experience. The role sits within the hospital's Allied Health team in a supportive, patient-centred environment, with trainees working under the guidance and supervision of experienced allied health professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Support clinical assessments and treatment programs under professional supervision.
• Provide patient and family education to support communication, swallowing and other care needs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care.
• Participate in training, quality improvement activities and administrative duties while developing clinical skills.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a recognised Australian university Speech Pathology degree.
• Motivated student eager to apply knowledge, learn from experienced clinicians and contribute to positive patient outcomes.
• Compassionate approach, strong communication skills and commitment to teamwork, professional development and high-quality care.
• Initiative, adaptability and willingness to learn under clinical supervision.
• Commitment to compassionate, culturally respectful and patient-centred care.
