Speech Pathologist – Clinic and Community Role

About the role

A family-run allied health provider covering the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Ipswich and other areas of South-East Queensland offers face-to-face therapy for all ages, with personalized care plans. The role splits the week between a clinic in Robina and clients' homes or schools within 30 minutes of your home location. The caseload is mixed ages, paediatric dominant.

Key responsibilities

• Support clients with developmental delays or speech and language disorders
• Treat speech or language impairments caused by stroke, traumatic brain injury or degenerative diseases such as dementia
• Help with difficulties in reading, writing or literacy
• Work on social communication, including understanding nonverbal cues and initiating conversation
• Teach alternative or augmentative communication methods, such as low or high technology devices

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology
• Membership of the Speech Pathology Association of Australia (SPA)
• Unrestricted working rights in Australia
• Driver's licence and own vehicle

What we offer

• Salary starting at $78,000 - $95,000 plus superannuation and benefits
• $2,000 professional development allowance plus professional development leave
• Travel cap of 30 minutes from home for community work
• Weekly or fortnightly supervision with a senior speech pathologist, plus fortnightly in-house training and group supervision
• Bonus of $80 per extra billable hour beyond the target, and the option of a 9-day fortnight or condensed week
