Solutions Engineer

About the role

You'll partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Implementation to design, prove, and deliver Assignar Pay for contractors, from first discovery through post‑sale expansion. You'll be as sharp with a payroll team on a job site as you are running a demo with a CFO.

Key responsibilities

• Run discovery workshops with CFOs, GMs, owners, payroll and IT stakeholders and own technical scoping for each Pay deal.
• Deliver end‑to‑end Pay builds including configuration, testing, dry runs and the first live payrun.
• Lead Pay implementation kick‑offs, create project plans and guide cross‑functional teams to meet customer commitments.
• Travel to customer sites (25‑40% of time) to run onsite workshops, training sessions and present to leadership.
• Build ROI business cases from discovery data and identify expansion opportunities for existing accounts.
• Leverage AI orchestration tools to accelerate scaffolding, security‑review drafts and workflow mapping, while verifying all outputs.

Required profile

• Proven Solutions Engineer or Sales Engineer experience, preferably in construction, ERP, payroll or finance software.
• Strong understanding of construction finance, including EBA and award interpretation, payroll, Schedule of Rates, Schedule of Values and job costing.
• Credibility with CFOs, payroll leaders and executive stakeholders; comfortable leading finance‑focused conversations.
• Track record of in‑person discovery and solution‑design workshops with technical and executive audiences.
• Experience running cross‑functional delivery activities such as kick‑offs, project plans, stand‑ups and escalations without formal authority.
• Familiarity with contractor‑focused ERPs (Xero, MYOB, NetSuite, Acumatica) and integrating them with payroll and invoicing platforms.
