Software Engineer – .NET & Angular (Contract or Permanent)

About the role

NCS Australia is looking for a versatile Software Engineer to join our Canberra, Brisbane or Melbourne teams. You will design, develop and maintain robust backend services while also creating intuitive frontend experiences using modern frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend web services in the .NET ecosystem (C#, ASP.NET, WPF, WCF).
• Build responsive frontend applications with Angular and modern JavaScript.
• Own the full software lifecycle from design through deployment and production monitoring.
• Champion Test‑Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour‑Driven Development (BDD) and create automated test suites using Selenium, Appium and SpecFlow.
• Manage continuous testing pipelines with Microsoft tools (TFS, MSTest).
• Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies, refine user stories and define acceptance criteria.
• Conduct peer reviews, maintain documentation and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with C#, ASP.NET, WPF and WCF.
• Strong knowledge of Angular, JavaScript and modern frontend practices.
• Proven track record of delivering high‑quality software in large‑scale IT projects.
• Experience with TDD/BDD, automated testing tools and CI/CD pipelines.
• Comfortable working autonomously and collaborating in Agile teams.
