Software Engineer – National Intelligence Projects

About the role

Boeing is seeking Software Engineers to develop capabilities for the Australian Signals Directorate, supporting national intelligence and security. You will join a high‑performing team in Brisbane, working on cutting‑edge technologies in a niche intelligence environment.

Key responsibilities

• Write well‑tested, simple code to solve complex problems.
• Design and build high‑quality systems using modern technologies.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, daily stand‑ups, retrospectives, and other team meetings.
• Pair program, review pull requests, and provide constructive feedback.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, containerised deployments, and production‑grade infrastructure.
• Communicate technical ideas clearly through written, verbal, and visual means.
• Contribute to an inclusive, collaborative team culture.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Interest in national security projects and protecting Australia’s interests.
• Ability to work onsite five days a week in Brisbane.
• Strong collaborative mindset and willingness to mentor junior teammates.

Required skills

• Java, C#, AngularJS, React, JavaScript.
• Understanding of microservice architectures and RESTful APIs.
• Hands‑on experience with container platforms (OpenShift, AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Competence with relational databases; knowledge of graph databases is a plus.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
