Software Engineer – Maritime Autonomous Systems

About the role

Anduril Industries is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Maritime Division in Sydney. You will work on autonomous platforms, simulation, data processing, and command‑and‑control software that support a range of maritime missions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and sustain software that runs on‑ and off‑robotic platforms, including autonomous underwater vehicles.
• Create test and simulation fixtures for hardware‑in‑the‑loop and software‑in‑the‑loop validation.
• Support vehicle manufacturing, deployment, and field operations, traveling up to 20% of the time to co‑locate with end‑users.
• Contribute reusable software components across multiple Anduril product lines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Professional experience as a Software Engineer with strong systems and application programming skills (algorithms, data structures, concurrency, scaling, testing, design).
• Ability to troubleshoot remotely deployed software and work across the full software lifecycle.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C++, Rust and/or Go for backend or embedded development.
• Experience with frontend development using TypeScript and React.
• Knowledge of horizontally scaled cloud technologies and embedded software for robotics.
• Familiarity with modeling, simulation, and high‑assurance safety‑critical software development.
