Software Engineer

About the role

TASK, a subsidiary of PAR Technology Corporation, is looking for a Software Engineer to join its team in Mona Vale, Sydney. The successful candidate designs, develops, tests, implements and maintains software applications and systems that support the company's business operations and technological needs. This is a full-time position with an opportunity to work on software development projects, collaborate with internal teams and help improve the company's technology solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve intermediate hardware and software faults, including database queries, system configuration issues and API integration errors, with support available for complex cases.
• Design, develop, test and maintain software applications and systems.
• Write, modify and review software code using appropriate programming languages and development tools.
• Develop and integrate software components, databases and APIs.
• Test, debug and troubleshoot software to identify and fix technical issues.
• Evaluate existing software systems and recommend improvements to functionality, performance and reliability.
• Prepare technical specifications, software documentation and system design documents.
• Monitor software performance and implement updates, upgrades and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with technical standards, security requirements and organisational policies.
• Take part in system analysis, design, implementation, testing and deployment, and provide technical support when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Relevant experience in software development and programming.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies, programming languages, databases and software testing practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Full-time position with a salary of AUD $80K-$90K per annum plus superannuation.
