Software Engineer

About the role

Abby Health is an Australian healthtech startup building an end‑to‑end digital clinical experience. As a Software Engineer you will join a small, founder‑led team in Sydney, working directly with the CTO, clinicians and support staff to ship features across the patient app, clinician portal, internal tools, mobile apps and the underlying API.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver full‑stack features spanning frontend, backend, database and mobile platforms.
• Own the end‑to‑end delivery of your component, from specification to production release.
• Collaborate on large, complex projects, taking clear ownership of the pieces assigned to you.
• Clarify assumptions and scope early, asking the right questions before building.
• Maintain production health by debugging patient‑facing issues and responding to incidents.
• Develop a deep understanding of how Abby delivers care to ensure technical decisions benefit patients and clinicians.

Required profile

• Several years of professional software development experience (mid‑level).
• Comfortable working autonomously in a fast‑moving startup environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to turn ambiguous requirements into concrete solutions.
• Willingness to work onsite in Sydney and collaborate closely with a small team.
