Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join AUCyber and 5G Networks, working alongside the Head of Software & AI on both customer‑facing products and internal tooling. You will build and ship production‑grade features that leverage large language models and AI‑assisted coding tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver features for customer and internal platforms.
• Integrate large language models and APIs into production‑ready tools.
• Build, containerise and deploy services using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Write well‑tested, maintainable code and uphold engineering best practices.
• Participate in Agile Scrum cycles, planning and shipping regularly.
• Collaborate with product, cloud and cybersecurity teams to turn ideas into working software.
• Contribute ideas and see them implemented.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and shipping production software.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns and testable code.
• Confidence in a modern programming language (Go or Node.js preferred).
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Comfort with APIs, cloud platforms and version control systems.
• Skilled use of AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code) with good judgement.
• Strong testing discipline and a builder’s mindset.
