Software Engineer – Hybrid, Permanent – Sydney

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Software Engineer to join our hybrid team in Sydney. You will help build and maintain digital products that serve millions of Australians, working in an Agile environment alongside product, design and engineering colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, maintainable software applications.
• Write clean, efficient, and secure code using modern development practices.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to turn ideas into production‑ready solutions.
• Perform testing, debugging, and code reviews to ensure high quality and performance.
• Contribute to technical discussions, continuous‑improvement initiatives, and stay current with emerging technologies.

Required profile

• 2+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and coding best practices.
• Experience with at least one modern programming language (Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#).
• Experience using contemporary development frameworks and tools.
• Excellent problem‑solving, debugging, communication and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
