Software Engineer Graduate Program (Sydney)

About the role

The Risk Solutions Technology Graduate Program is a hybrid 12-month experience with two six-month rotations, designed for new or upcoming graduates. It covers big data, AI, SRE, DevOps and security engineering, with exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, mentorship, performance feedback and training. Participants work alongside experienced professionals and managers on project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Write and review portions of detailed specifications for system components of simple complexity
• Implement development processes, coding best practices and code reviews under senior engineers' guidance
• Work in various development environments and collaborate with stakeholders
• Complete simple bug fixes using test-driven development
• Gather and analyse requirements for software projects
• Resolve basic technical issues and stay up to date with new technologies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, graduating between February 2026 and February 2027
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability and desire to learn new processes and technologies
• Full working rights in Australia (no visa sponsorship)
• Able to work onsite in the Sydney office twice a week

Required skills

• Development languages such as Java/J2EE, Python, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, Linux and .NET
• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies
• Knowledge of data manipulation languages, data modelling and test-driven development
