Software Engineer (Business Applications & Digital Platforms)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, integrate, test, deploy and maintain software applications and digital platforms that support our construction, automotive and industrial operations. The role is office‑based at our Collie, WA site and works closely with management, operations, project delivery, procurement, finance, sales, marketing and external technology providers.

Key responsibilities

• Consult with directors, managers and operational users to identify business needs and digital improvement opportunities.
• Gather, analyse and document functional and non‑functional requirements.
• Translate requirements into technical designs, architecture, data models and implementation plans.
• Develop responsive front‑end applications using JavaScript, React, Vue.js, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Build back‑end services and RESTful APIs with Java/Spring Boot, Python or Node.js.
• Design and maintain relational databases (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Integrate internal applications with CRM, finance, document‑management and third‑party platforms.
• Implement data‑processing, reporting and dashboard solutions using appropriate BI tools.
• Manage source code with Git and support CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Webpack or equivalents).
• Deploy and maintain applications on AWS or Azure, applying security best practices.
• Conduct unit, integration, system, regression, performance and UAT testing and provide post‑deployment support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Relevant professional experience in full‑stack software engineering and business application delivery.
• Eligibility to work in Australia or ability to meet visa and sponsorship requirements.
