Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

About the role

As a member of Susquehanna's Testing team, you will work in a real‑time, high‑frequency trading environment, building automation tools and processes for exchange connectivity and market data systems on Linux.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop custom automation tools and testing frameworks for exchange connectivity and market data systems.
• Lead the creation and enhancement of an integration test environment, troubleshooting and resolving system issues as needed.
• Gain deep knowledge of applications to identify and fix obscure problems.
• Collaborate with developers, traders, and support staff to address production questions.
• Monitor production performance and contribute to system optimisation.
• Support automation tasks across testing, deployment, and process improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience designing and building automated test frameworks.
• Strong proficiency in an object‑oriented language (C++ or Python) and extensive experience with Linux.
• Experience handling large data sets and familiarity with network programming is highly regarded.
• Understanding of distributed systems and trading technology is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, communicate clearly, and solve technical problems.
