Software Developer – Computer Vision & Machine Learning

About the role

Join IAG Defence & National Security (DNS) as a Software Developer working on cutting‑edge computer vision (CV) and machine learning (ML) solutions for critical defence and national security programmes across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Develop software using a variety of languages and development environments.
• Contribute to high‑quality analysis, user‑experience outcomes and software engineering process improvement.
• Collaborate with data scientists to design, develop and integrate CV models, including participation in data‑collection activities.
• Seek expertise from subject‑matter experts, incorporate feedback, and document processes in line with policy.
• Communicate solutions to team members, partners and wider organisational stakeholders.
• Maintain productive relationships within a small, cohesive team.

Required profile

• Current Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) clearance or a TSPV held within the past 12 months.
• Proven experience in software development with a strong focus on Python.
• High‑level interpersonal skills to convey results to diverse audiences.
• Extensive experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary experts to solve real problems.
